Examples of past projects funded are:
Project S.A.V.E (Safe Alternatives and Violence Education) – An organization who teaches the necessary communication and problem solving skills to youth ages 10 -18. These youth are first time offenders and Project S.A.V.E helps to get them “back on track,” stay in school, and avoid long-term involvement with the juvenile justice system.
Sacramento Police Foundation: Criminal Justice and Public Service Academy at local High Schools. The Foundation provides life coaching scholarships as well as college/vocational school scholarships to high school senior Academy students who have demonstrated leadership, community service, success in the program and have at least a 2.5 grade point average to attend college. The majority of these youth are the first in their families to attend college.
MLK Celebration Dinner - The dinner hosts a group of 100 local students to pass on the teachings of Dr. King and his goals of unity and tolerance to the next generation.
